Wilbur here!   Just had to remind everyone that if you have the opportunity to save on your auto insurance by taking defensive driving, it’s truly the best and fastest way to save big $$$ on your auto insurance.  EONS ago, pre-internet (cough, yes, Wilbur is old enough to remember those days…), we used to have to sit in an auditorium and sleep while some guy ran a film projector.  OMG!  It was painful.  All day Saturday watching film, being run by a guy who tells you what the answers are to the test questions!!!  He doesn’t want to get into trouble because people failed the test.  And worse…some folks still failed!   But hey, the company paid for the course, we just had to sit there.

Then came the dumb terminal/VHS version.  Ok…that’s an improvement.  You take home the terminal to take the test.  You watch the boring tape.   You tell the terminal that yes, there indeed was a crash between two model T cars in section 2 and voila, in the mail you get your certificate.   This was $40, but you could spread it out over 3 days and was far less boring.  We didn’t mind paying since we saved so much anyway and didn’t have to donate a Saturday.

Modern days came and the $40 course was on DVD with phone or internet exams.  Cool…

Finally, we’ve advanced.  No more running to the video store to get the course for $40.  Now we can sit right here at our nest with internet access and take the $25 course.  Hey…we get a price break now!  The joy of competition!!!    Plus, we get our choice of different vendors (instead of the one that the video store chose to buy).  We have always enjoyed the comedy defensive driving with VIDEO so that’s what we’ll get this time.   Watch out for audio only…we geese like to see the pictures too.  :) 

And once we turn our certificate in…a COOL $200 savings this year…a nice repeat for next year and the following year.  $600 savings for $25 plus only 5 hours of suffering through some comedic training on how to avoid a collision.  Not bad, if I say so myself.  HAPPY HONK!
