To clarify, we live in a community managed by a homeowner’s association. The homeowner’s association ordered the exterior work. This is why we didn’t know when they were coming.
Back to the story. One fine Saturday, we’re roaming about the nest when all of a sudden, the girl geese hear noises that make them think that someone is breaking into the nest. WilburGoose grabs the baseball bat and starts approaching the door with CarsonGoose close behind. The girls grab for the phone in case the police become necessary, as they cower behind a wall. As Wilbur gets closer, he realizes that the noise is coming from the balcony. He raises his bat and puts his “mean” face on (think “Lou Ferrigno as the Hulk”) and opens the curtain as he screams “ARRRRRGGHHH!!!”. What does he see? The workmen were taking the balcony apart! At that point, the workmen were more frightened of Wilbur than Wilbur was of them. :)
Of course, we were relieved to find that these weren’t burglars, however we were a bit upset that these folks couldn’t leave a note the night before or knock first. What do you think? Shouldn’t they knock first???
