Fill-er-up early if you think you might want to leave.  We were so lucky that we filled up on Tuesday morning because we hear that by Tues evening gas was getting scarce and it was out by Wednesday.

We now realize that it would have been wise to have a gas can.  Get a safe one suitable for driving in a car.  Some of these cans are really not sealed enough to be in a car for a long trip.  They're only intended for a bit of gas for the lawn mower. 

Take the time now to find a well made can and learn how to use it safely.
