Heading East - head for KnittingUniverse.com

We know it's been publicized but we want you to know that before you start knitting "Heading East", you should head first to www.knittinguniverse.com to get the corrections. Even with the corrections, we had trouble understanding!!!

Basically, they tell you to cast on with the wrong color blue. You want to use darker blue A to cast on (as somewhat shown in the photo). The cast on color is the inside "liner" for the sleeve cuff. It will turn and be INSIDE the sleeve.

At the end, the bottom and neck band will also be the DARKER blue. Now, what really confused our gaggle was whether the yardage (even the CORRECTED yardage) was correct for darker blue A. Frankly, we're not certain at this point. We're going to knit fast and hope for the best. :)

Also...we're quite disappointed that there are NO photos of the back and we're quite confused by the instructions. They want a narrow red stripe up the back? And they want it next to the brown/blue dots? Nowhere else in the sweater is red next to brown and in all places, blue dots are surrounded by brown, not touching other colors. Luckily, this happens at the very end so we plan to knit both sides, then put them next to each other and knit what makes sense. A red stripe up the center doesn't make sense...at least not at this moment.

Oh...and by the way, we didn't like that red! So we're substituting purple. It may not have as much contrast as that red...but frankly, the red has no relationship to the other colors. We think the red was a good pop, a highlight...but we're not flashy geese. We'll go for subtle, sophisticated, demure - otherwise known as "pop-less"
